NFA to buy 250,000 MT of rice from 13 companies
State-run grains agency National Food Authority (NFA) is set to buy 250,000 metric tons of rice at 25 percent brokens from 13 foreign companies for P6 billion.
To be specific, NFA had set its reference price at US$498.25 per MT, while bids range from US$ 461.75 per MT to US$ 465.04.
The companies who won the bidding are Hiep Loi Joint Stock Company, Thai Capital Crops Co. Ltd., Asia Golden Rice Co. Ltd., Capital Cereals Co. Ltd., Gia International Corp., Gentraco Corp., Olam International Ltd., Khiem Thanh Co. Ltd., Louis Dreyfus Company Asia PTE. LTD., Tan Long Group Joint Stock Company, Thai Hua Co. Ltd., Singson (HK) Ltd., and Ponglarp Co. Ltd.
Those who failed, but with the chance to re-submit their bids, are Orion Link Pte. Ltd., ADM Asia Pacific Trading Pte. Ltd., and Meskay & Femtee Trading Co. Ltd., while those who withdrew are Phoenix Global DMCC from United Arab Emirates, Vietnam Southern Food Corp. (Vinafood I), and Vinafood II.
CP Intertrade Co. Ltd. and Phan Minh Investment Production Trading Services did not submit proposals.
The new supply will arrive not later than July 31.
