PH’s top brand of choice is… Lucky Me!
Coca-cola is the most bought brand in 2017 globally, but can you guess what’s the most preferred among Filipinos last year?
Instant noodle brand Lucky Me! is the most bought brand in the country in 2017, according to the annual Brand Footprint ranking by the Kantar Worldpanel.
The 2018 study said that Lucky Me! retained its position as the most chosen brand in the country for the third straight year.
To be specific, the brand was picked out from shelves 812 million times.
It had the most number of buying households, reaching 98 percent of local homes. It was also selected from the shelves about 36 times last year.
The brand is followed by Nescafe and Surf which are also the most chosen brands in beverage and home care, respectively.
These were followed by Silver Swam, Palmolive, Bear Brand, Great Taste, Milo, Kopiko, and Ajinomoto, which rounded the Top 10.
Local consumers’ most preferred brands were under the food, drink and dairy product categories with 32 making it to the top 50 ranking.
Meanwhile, health and beauty and home care brands accounted for the rest at 10 and eight, respectively.
Of the top 50, about 22 of the brands were local.
Kantar Worldpanel’s Brand Footprint 2018 study covered the 12 months that ended November 2017.
The study measures how many households bought each brand and how many times they did it within one year.
For the country, the study analyzed a total of 17 billion shopper decisions of 23 million Filipino households, covering 530 brands in 2017.
