Popular Indian restaurant faces backlash as ‘dirty dishes’ video goes viral
Netizens are calling for sanctions against popular restaurant chain Raj’s Banana Leaf in Malaysia after a video went viral showing their employees washing dishes outside using dirty water.
The video immediately spread like wildfire over the internet with many angry patrons of the restaurant calling for an investigation and even closure of the restaurant.
In their official Facebook post, Raj’s Banana Leaf apologized for the behavior of their new “staff members” who were responsible for the appalling video. The restaurant maintained that Raj’s consistently passes health standards and inspections conducted regularly and assured their customers that the video was an isolated incident.
Many netizens were not quite convinced and said that Raj’s would have continued with their practice if the video had not surfaced while some called for the boycott of the restaurant chain. Still, there were those with cooler heads who still wanted to give the owners a chance.
The video has been reposted by many angry netizens thousands of times prompting the Kuala Lumpur City Council to schedule an inspection today and a possible closure order against the restaurant. (ANGEL ONG)
