Café by the Ruins reopens a year after the fire
Baguio’s iconic Café by the Ruins opens again a year after it was razed by fire.
In July last year, the café’s management announced through a facebook post that they can no longer rebuild the ruins.
“We had a beautiful farewell gathering and we would like to thank each and every one of you, from the bottom of our hearts, for making Cafe by the Ruins what it has become,” said the post.
Café by the Ruins has a second branch in DUA which featured modern-hip interiors and also serves as a gallery for Cordillera arts and culture.
This is where patrons of the cafe went when the main branch was closed.
ABS CBN News reported that over the weekend they have posted new photos of the newly reopened branch which kept their signature façade of the main branch but has refurbished interiors.
Café by the Ruins opened in the late ‘80s and is known for serving daily specials made from what is available in the Baguio City Market.
