DA distributes farm inputs in Arakan through SAAD
The Department of Agriculture (DA), through the Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD), has distributed farm inputs worth P2.5 million in Barangay Malibatuan, municipality of Arakan, North Cotabato.
In a statement, DA said the interventions were distributed to Malibatuan Farmers Credit Cooperative (MFCC).
They were particularly given 2,000 bags of fertilizers, 200 bags of foliar fertilizers, and 100 knapsack sprayers.
During the distribution, DA Regional Executive Director Milagros C. Casis appealed to the beneficiaries to give importance to government agricultural interventions by sustaining them for the benefit of all.
“Since these interventions are free, we are asking you to give importance to and be responsible for them,” she said.
As part of the thrusts of President Rodrigo Duterte to increase food production and reduce poverty in the Philippines, SAAD Program aims to help increase the income of poor farmers coming from the poorest provinces of the country.
