DA officials give Korean diplomats Guimaras Mango as gifts
Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Piñol said that as a sign of “sweet friendship”, the Philippines gifted Korean diplomats with world-renowned Guimaras Mango during President Rodrigo Duterte’s visit in South Korea.
Declared as without value because of its perishability, the Department of Agriculture (DA) officials brought with them Guimaras Mango to be given as tokens to their South Korean counterparts.
The South Koreans, for their part, prepared boxes of Ginseng extracts for their Filipino visitors.
“Both gifts, symbolic of each country’s agriculture, are being exchanged between officials of both the Philippines and South Korea during official meetings,” Piñol said.
“Personally, I like these items as gifts. Masarap na, wala pang isyu,” he further said.
