DA reaches out to farmers through information awareness campaign
In its bid to bring the programs and services of the Department of Agriculture (DA) closer to the farmers, the agency recently conducted an Information Awareness Campaign in Surigao City, Santiago, Agusan del Norte, San Luis, Loreto, and La Paz in Agusan del Sur.
Representatives of the various divisions of DA in Caraga imparted significant information about the programs and services the agency provides, as well as information on the requirements and guidelines in availing these interventions and services.
DA Information Section Chief Emmylou Presilda said that the group brings information that can empower the farmers to make them more productive and progressive.
For his part, Municipal Administrator Tirso Gomez of La Paz said such an activity will help farmers know what the government is doing for them.
He also reminded the farmers that if they receive any assistance from the government, they should also be responsible in managing it and to use it for the purpose it was given.
Every year, DA-Caraga conducts an information awareness campaign to bring the DA closer to the farmers and other agriculture stakeholders by disseminating information on the agency’s programs and services.
