DAR distributes P5.3M worth of farm machineries in Mindoro
To help boost their agricultural production and improve their income, three agrarian reform beneficiaries’ organizations (ARBOs) in Occidental Mindoro received farm machineries with a combined worth of P5.3 million from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR).
DAR Regional Director Stephen M. Leonidas said the recipient of three units of DC60 Rice Combine Harvester with trailer bed include New Dagupan Tanyag Multipurpose Cooperative in Calintaan, Tagumpay Multipurpose Cooperative in Rizal, and St. Marcos Multipurpose Cooperative in Magsaysay.
The machineries were provided under the Agrarian Reform Community Connectivity and Economic Support Services (ARCCESS) Project.
“Having a business plan is important to achieve success. With the plan, your organization will be properly guided on how to manage, operate and maintain the common service facility in an efficient and economical manner,” Leonidas said.
DAR Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer Luisito A. Jacinto said part of their mission in the agency is to assist and guide the farmer-beneficiaries.
With the provision of these facilities, they have high hopes that farmers would be able to improve their agri-enterprise through service rental not just for the members but for the nearby municipalities.
“Around 250 farmer-members from the three ARBOs would benefit from the grant. With farm mechanization, the yield in the province would highly increase considering that the cooperatives are the major rice-producers in the area,” Jacinto said.
