Food and heritage park to rise along Manila bay
Real estate development company DoubleDragon revealed its plan to build a food and heritage park promoting Filipino culture and cuisine.
To be called Islas Pilipinas, the complex is set to be built along Manila Bay and is envisioned to be a “stopover” for foreign and local tourists who arrive in the capital from nearby airports, said DoubleDragon Chairman Edgar Sia in a report from ABS CBN news.
The project will be done in collaboration with top chef and restaurateur Margarita Fores.
They will be offering rice meals as well as street foods but unlike the usual banchetto, it will be in an air-conditioned setting.
Islas Pinas will feature an authentic Sarao jeepney, a recreation of Calle Crisologo in the northern heritage city of Vigan and a street food strip, photos released to the stock exchange showed.
