Here’s why Gloria Maris is being kicked out from its Pasay location
Popular Chinese food chain Gloria Maris Shark’s Fin Restaurant is being kicked out from its Pasay location for not having any valid contract.
The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), the owner of the lot where Gloria Maris is situated, said in a Philippine Daily Inquirer report that the restaurant has already been asked several times to vacate the lot but no actions have been taken.
This, even as the restaurant’s lease had already expired in 2010.
GSIS said the restaurant chain had “no right to continue occupying the subject property.”
Right now, GSIS is seeking “reasonable compensation of P260,000 a month, reckoned from the time of demand up to the time that the subject property is vacated and turned over”, as well as asked payment from Gloria Maris for P500,000 worth of litigation and attorney’s fees that the pension fund had incurred.
“GSIS also earlier ordered Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila to vacate two Pasay lots it was allegedly occupying illegally,” the report added.
