DA disperses cattle for Apayao farmers via SAAD
The Department of Agriculture (DA) said that through the Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) program, it was able to disperse beef cattle to its farmer-partners in various municipalities in Apayao.
To be exact, five heads of heifer beef cattle (Bos taurus: Brahman) with a minimum of 25 kilograms were distributed to five farmers of Catablangan, Conner in Apayao (with Manag, Conner as dropping point).
Then another five individual farmers in Sitio Sina, Namaltugan, Calanasan were able to receive one head of cattle each.
SAAD in Apayao also facilitated the delivery of buffalos in Sitio Malitao Butao (still in Calanasan), wherein two farmers were listed as recipients of one head buffalo.
Apayao is one of three SAAD-covered provinces in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), chosen based on the 2012 Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) poverty statistics report.
