DAR awards outstanding farmers and cooperatives
The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) recently awarded six farmers and six farm cooperatives for their outstanding efforts to uplift their own lives as well as contributing in the development of their communities.
The outstanding agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) and outstanding agrarian reform beneficiaries’ organizations (ARBOs) were awarded at the culmination of the celebration of the 30th year of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) implementation in the country.
“These awards are given in recognition of their efforts and exemplary performance in uplifting their economic lives and contributing in the development of the community,” Agrarian Reform Secretary John Castriciones said.
Farmers’ agriculture products such as fresh produce and non-food products were also recognized for their outstanding quality and saleability.
“We hope that these awards would inspire others to give their best for the family, the community and for the country,” Castriciones added.
Some of the products that were recognized are the Banana Bardava of Linabo Agrarian Reform Multi-Purpose Cooperative; Pineapple of Bugarin Pineapple Growers Assoc., Inc.; Bell Pepper of Malungon Integrated Vegetable Growers Association; Abaca Flowers of United Maligang Farmers Muti-Purpose Cooperative; and Wine Holder of Pamansalan Nito Weavers Association.
