Despite protests, a theme park and resort is still rising in Coron
Coral World Park (CWP) Undersea Resorts, Inc. is unfazed by protests and will still pursue its controversial plan to build a theme park and resort in Coron, Palawan.
A report in Business World showed that the timeline to finish the first phase of the massive project is 2021.
This involves the development of a budget and luxury resort, as well as a 100-hectare theme park.
The project, which has been delayed for two years now, will need as much as 400 hectares of property.
CWP will supposedly partner with Viacom International Media Networks, the company behind American children’s television network Nickelodeon, to build the theme park.
However, Viacom backed out after the project was opposed by environmental group and the local community.
