Manila Water’s major emergency leak repairs to cause traffic in EDSA-Shaw
Manila Water Company Inc. said it has set out to repair a leak on one of its mainlines running along EDSA to avoid further damage in the future.
The leak was detected at a 500mm steel pipe at the southbound lane just before the corner of Shaw Boulevard. The mainline has been laid around 30 years ago.
The company said the construction will be undertaken 24 hours daily from July 14, 2018 to August 20, 2018.
But pre-works on the project site will begin today, Saturday.
“The outermost lane of EDSA in front of Starmall will be closed to traffic in the duration of project,” Manila Water said.
Because of this, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is moving the affected bus stop to two temporary locations along EDSA southbound: one approaching Starmall and another after Shaw Blvd.
Vehicles turning right from EDSA to Shaw Blvd. will temporarily pass through the Starmall premises, to allow southbound buses and private vehicles to use the service road exclusively.
