Seungri reveals how much each branch of his Aori Ramen earns in a month
While BIG BANG maknaeSeungri’shyungs G-Dragon, T.O.P, Taeyang and Daesung are serving in the military for mandatory enlistment, the youngest member of the iconic K-pop group is busy representing the group in events. He will also release his first solo album his month and is set to headline his first solo tour.
What’s amazing about this K-pop artist (who is now the CEO of YG Entertainment’s sub label YGX) is that he doesn’t put all his eggs in one basket. While he focuses on his music, he’s also busy building an empire in business, in particular, Aori Ramen which now has 45 branches nationwide.
In a guest appearance in the Korean variety show My Little Old Boy (aka Mon’s Diary), Seungri discussed the challenges of running the business and cited an incident wherein they had to sell limited bowls of ramen a day because a typhoon in Japan affected the delivery of the soy sauce they used in the shop. He said that their customers appreciated their honesty and continued to patronize the ramen shop until the crisis was over.
With 45 branches, host Sangmin said that he estimated the sales of each branch to be around $50,000 but Seungri remained quiet and smiled. As it turned out, each branch earns around $200,000 per month, raking in millions in monthly sales for the ramen CEO. He clarified though that it was not all his, but rather there are also franchisees who help him expand his business in different parts of the world. The noodle shop now has branches in Shanghai, Beijing, Japan, Malaysia, Vietnam and Korea.
