A Mediterranean diet may help you tame your psoriasis
A study suggested that a Mediterranen diet could help slow down the progress of severe psoriasis.
According to findings published in JAMA Dermatology, which was cited by Healio, the Mediterranean diet has been shown to reduce chronic inflammation and has a positive effect on the risk of metabolic syndrome and cardiovascular events.
Céline Phan, MD, from Paris Est Créteil University, and her colleagues wrote the study.
Phan and colleagues analyzed data from the NutriNet-Santé program to determine how adherence to the Mediterranean diet affects the onset and/or severity of psoriasis.
A Mediterranean Diet is composed of a lot fruits, vegetables, beans, olive oils, nuts, legumes, and whole grains. It also involves eating the right amount of fish and poultry over red meat.
