BigDish plans massive expansion after London listing
After raising £2.2 million (P152 million) last week at the London Stock Exchange, Philippine-born company BigDish is now planning to do a massive local and overseas expansion.
The food technology startup, which basically allows diners to get meal discounts during off-peak hours, said in a Philippine Daily Inquirer report that it will partner with hundreds of restaurants in the Philippines, while also ramping up operations in the United Kingdom.
“How we see it, restaurant reservation apps are still scratching the surface of the surface in Asia and there is a massive blue ocean opportunity which we are looking to tap,” Joost Boer, company co-founder and CEO, said in the report.
BigDish can be downloaded on iOS and Android.
The company’s current partners include IHOP, California Pizza Kitchen and Motorino.
