Are you brave enough to try the #chichaworm challenge?
There have been many food challenges that have come and gone but this particular food challenge may well be the most challenging of them all.
ABS-CBN recently featured the Chichaworm challenge which basically features cultured worms being fried en masse and served to those who are brave enough to try.
Many enterprising Pinoy have already made a business out of it. Superworms are breeded to become bugs which in turn lay about 50 eggs each. The eggs take 2-3 months before they become actual superworms that can be ready for cooking and consumption. The worms are deep fried for 15-20 minutes, before they are placed on a strainer and flavored similar to flavored French fries being sold in stalls.
Brave souls who have tried the dish said they got goosebumps just by looking at the chichaworms but they actually taste like actual pork chicharon.
