Army chief eyed to replace Jason Aquino at NFA
A retiring army chief is now being eyed to replace Jason Aquino as the administrator of perhaps the most controversial government agency in the Philippines right now, which is the National Food Authority (NFA).
Yesterday, President Rodrigo Duterte said he sought Maj. Gen. Rolando Joselito D. Bautista to replace Aquino, who asked to be retrieved from his position amid issues hounding the NFA right now.
As of now, NFA is being blamed for the high cost of price in the local market, among other issues.
“Mabait yan, si Rolly. In the meantime na hindi kita mailagay sa Central Bank, pwede ka muna sa NFA siguro to rationalize the idiotic [structure] in the agency,” Duterte said.
Bautista is a member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Sandiwa” Class of 1987, and is also a former commander of Mr. Duterte’s Presidential Security Group (PSG).
Duterte made the announcement during a televised Cabinet meeting on Super-Typhoon Ompong held in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
