DA distributes agri infra to Indigenous People of Baganga
The Department of Agriculture in Region 11, through its Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (PAMANA) program, has recently turned over P1 million worth of agriculture infrastructure in Baganga, Davao Oriental.
The DA said it is the members of the Nagkauyong Mandaya sang Tigbawan, Inc. (NMSTI), who were affected by typhoon Pablo in 2012, who will benefit from the establishment of a Multi-Purpose Drying Pavement (MPDP) and a warehouse in Barangay Binondo, Baganga.
NMSTI were also given bags of upland rice and corn seeds.
Jennifer Tangonan, PAMANA’s focal person in DA Region 11, said that aside from the turnover, DA is also in collaboration with the Office of the Presidential Adviser for Peace Process (OPAPP) and Local Government Unit of Baganga.
“DA Region 11’s support will not stop here. We will visit the place from time to time to check if these projects really served its purpose,” said Tangonan, adding that coordination with the LGU will help DA continue to identify and address the challenges in the agriculture sector of Baganga.
