DA opens Diversion Dam in Cotabato
In a bid to boost agriculture production in Cotabato, the Department of Agriculture (DA) has opened a diversion dam in Barangay Popoyon in Tulunan.
The construction of the dam, which was funded by the DA, cost around P27 million.
During its turnover, DA also distributed other agriculture projects and interventions to farmers and fisherfolk of Tulunan and other nearby municipalities.
This includes one seed spreader, multi-purpose drying pavement, and recirculating dryer. Under the rice program, a total of 100 bags of corn seeds were distributed, while a unit of hermetic storage bag was granted under the corn program.
As for the High Value Crops Development Program, 250 pieces of fruit seedlings of durian, rambutan, lanzones, guapple and guyabano, as well as two units of knapsack sprayer were turned over.
In addition, DA-12 said it will allot P75 million for the construction of additional farm-to-market roads in Tulunan for 2019.
