DA reopens Tienda at central office
The Department of Agriculture (DA) has reopened Tienda, where agriculture products are sold directly by farmers, in its central office in Quezon City.
“Vegetables, fruits, fish, chicken and other products will be sold at farm gate prices on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 28 and 29, in the Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI) Compound in San Andres, Manila and the Department of Agriculture Compound on Elliptical Circle in Quezon City,” Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Piñol said.
He also said that tons of fresh vegetables and fruits, including 20 tons of Durian from Davao, will be the main features of TienDA.
Tuna Panga and Tilapia from Central Luzon, along with dressed chicken, will also be sold.
Meanwhile, first class rice varieties from Central Luzon farmers will be sold for only P40 per kilo.
“No wholesale purchases will be allowed,” Piñol noted.
The outlets will open at 6 a.m.
