San Juan mayor orders closure of Guevarra’s after food poisoning complaints
San Juan City Mayor Guia Gomez ordered the temporary closure of Chef Laudico’s Gueverra after a family of five who dined in the buffet restaurant allegedly fell victim to food poisoning.
Owned by famous chef Roland Laudico, the restaurant is located at P. Guevarra St. corner Argonne St., Addition Hills, San Juan City.
Gomez said the restaurant is now subject to a thorough investigation and will be closed down for seven days.
Her decision came after a food poisoning report, along with legitimate medical records confirming the contamination, was submitted to San Juan City Hall against the restaurant.
A certain Karessa Mae Bulay Limpot, one of the victims, said they first complained to Guevarra’s but was only given “false assurances” by the restaurant’s management.
Upon learning of the incident, Gomez immediately ordered the crew and staff of the restaurant to undergo food handling reorientation as well as the inspection of the facility and its drainage system.
