Check out this tricky, but delicious banana bread on a stick recipe
Take your love for banana bread to the next level by making it easier to eat. Why not have it on a stick?
Tasty recently featured the recipe of how to make banana bread on a stick inspired by chef Alix observing how much a banana looked a lot like a corn dog.
Its pretty simple and it basically starts with cutting off the edges of five bananas and skewering them on popsicle sticks. Next up is to freeze them for an hour. Don’t think that the banana ends are going to waste because you need to keep them and mash them in a bowl, add ¼ cup of sugar, 1 tbsp of vanilla, ¼ cup of oil, and one egg, much like the ingredients of a classic banana bread. After mixing them together, add 1 ½ cups of flour, 1 tbsp of baking powder, 1 tbsp of cinnamon, and ¼ tsp of salt.
This banana bread on the stick is quite interesting and quite tricky because you don’t need to bake it. Instead, the frozen bananas as dipped fully into the mix and deep fried until golden brown. You need perfect timing for this or else, you’ll have a dessert that is not quite cooked or one that is soggy and unappetizing.
