Try out this quick recipe for ube champorado
Tired of preparing the classic champorado for your kids’ snacks? Why not level up the traditional recipe with some new ingredients?
In a post shared by Tasty, the recipe is pretty simple. All you need is 250 grams of malagkit rice and 4 cups of water which you should simmer and bring to a boil much like you would prepare porridge. Add more water if needed but keep stirring to make sure the rice doesn’t burn or stick to the bottom of the pan.
Once the rice is tender, add one cup of ube halaya, which you would easily find in nearby markets or bottled in the grocery store near the halo halo section.
Also, add one tsp of ube flavoring and ½ cup coconut cream to make the flavors stand out more, Stir until the ube is fully incorporated into the rice porridge and season with a pinch of salt.
Top with condensed milk as you would your normal champorado and viola, you have a pretty colorful and unique new twist to your champorado. (ANGEL ONG)
