Domino’s Pizza refuse to give Senior Citizen discount to a customer
Domino’s Pizza refused to give a Senior Citizen discount to one customer, saying that the discount only applies to their medium order pizzas.
This was revealed by a concerned netizen, Trina Domampo Ortega, on a Facebook post.
“I admit that I am not very familiar with the whole senior citizen and PWD [People with Disability] benefits. When I was trying to order for dinnr, this establishment refused to give us mandatory 20 percent senior citizen discount,” Ortega said.
“When I asked for a valid explanation, the agent seemed to be at aloss. She put me on hold the first time before saying that we can only avail of one discount type. But we did not avail of any discount or promos,” she added.
It was then that they were told by the Domino’s representative that senior citizen only applies to medium order pizza.
Based on the Expanded Senior Citizens Act of 2010 (Republic Act 9994), all Elderly Filipinos aged 60 and above are entitled to a 20 percent senior citizen discount and exempted from the value-added tax (VAT) on applicable goods and services for their exclusive use.
